OTHA Philosophy

Our Philosophy
+
- We are each responsible for our health and well-being.
- We don’t choose our genetics, but we can work with what we have.
- It’s not what the body looks like, it’s how it functions.
- If it works, leave it alone.
- Rehab isn’t easy. It can be tedious and boring.
- How many hours are you doing rehab? The answer is usually: not enough.
Our Role
+
Our role is asking important questions: intake and assessment. We listen to complaints and also find out what is working.
- Clarify patterns, not just symptoms.
- Dispel medical myths and partial truths that keep people stuck.
- Demystify terminology around diagnosis and prognosis.
- Share options for natural, non-pharmaceutical relief.
OTHA Philosophy
OTHA, our Tandem Therapeutic Bodywork, began in 2013, though we first met around 1990. We both chose bodywork early: touching people with intention, with the goal of making a positive change.
We’ve each experienced trauma, injuries, and surgeries. That lived experience helps us work with clients in a very real way, beyond the textbook.
