OTHA Philosophy

OTHA, our Tandem Therapeutic Bodywork, began in 2013, though we first met around 1990. We both chose bodywork early: touching people with intention, with the goal of making a positive change.

We’ve each experienced trauma, injuries, and surgeries. That lived experience helps us work with clients in a very real way, beyond the textbook.

Education • Inspiration • Collaboration

Education
We help you understand your body and your patterns.
Inspiration
We build hope through progress and clarity.
Collaboration
Healing works best when we do it together.

Our Philosophy
+
  • We are each responsible for our health and well-being.
  • We don’t choose our genetics, but we can work with what we have.
  • It’s not what the body looks like, it’s how it functions.
  • If it works, leave it alone.
  • Rehab isn’t easy. It can be tedious and boring.
  • How many hours are you doing rehab? The answer is usually: not enough.
Back to Basics: Treat the PERSON, not the FILE.

Our Role
+

Our role is asking important questions: intake and assessment. We listen to complaints and also find out what is working.

  • Clarify patterns, not just symptoms.
  • Dispel medical myths and partial truths that keep people stuck.
  • Demystify terminology around diagnosis and prognosis.
  • Share options for natural, non-pharmaceutical relief.
Goal: Education, Inspiration, and Collaboration in all of our endeavors.

Want to talk through your situation and get a clear next step? We’re happy to help you build a plan that makes sense.
